This two phase project was completed in 2009. The work was carried out as part of the Contractors Framework with the Hospital Trust. It involved the complete refurbishment of the existing Blundell Wards to provide rooms and ward areas with ensuite facilities. [read more]
This project involved the conversion and extension of a former bonded warehouse into 13 two and three bedroom residential apartments and three commercial office units. Three apartments including the two penthouses were roof level additions. [read more]
This Fast Track Project involved the complete refurbishment and conversion of an existing orthopaedic theatre including the installation of a Laminar Flow ventilation system which produces a high purity air supply to reduce bacteria and the risk of post-operative infection. [read more]
Three executive residential homes for a private developer.
Guy’s Dorcas wards were refurbished and converted into a new Urology Department and support facilities. The 740M2 of wards on the 6th floor of New Guy’s House were stripped out and fully refitted in 2008. [read more]
The Pain Management and Phlebotomy department is on the ground floor of the Lambeth Wing at St Thomas’ Hospital. The Trust relocated the department temporarily to enable a full refurbishment and improvement to the facility. [read more]
Upgrade and expansion of the existing High Dependency Maternity Unit including new ancillary areas. This project was carried out in a live clinical environment over three sequential phases.
Internal alteration, extension and refurbishment of an existing building to create the Wolverton Centre sexual health clinic. The building was stripped back to a bare shell and all services and finishes renewed. Externally the building was reroofed, the existing drainage replaced and external works and access improved.
The refurbishment of the 1st & 2nd floors of existing office building including the reconfiguration of walls and new wall finishes. Entrance adaptions to meet DDA regulations. Overhaul of mechanical and electrical services including BMS systems and adaption of existing systems where the floor plan had been altered. The works were carried out within an occupied 5 storey building where disturbance to neighbouring occupiers needed to be minimised requiring a high level of flexibility in working hours. Works were undertaken to the basement to create a secure storage facility.
The construction of a new reception building to the Barons Court campus. Constructed around a steel frame the building was enclosed in aluminium framed curtain walling with a high performance felt and zinc roof. New disabled access was created to enable better access to the college together with associated external works and lighting.
The construction of a new dental facility on the 12th floor of Tower Wing at Guys Hospital. Including the installation of specialist dentistry equipment, new M & E services finishes and fittings throughout.
The refurbishment of workshop facilities including insulation works to the existing roof structure, alterations to the internal layout and new electrical services.
The formation of new car park facilities at the Windsor Campus including new drainage, lighting, access control and landscaping.
The complete refurbishment of a period dining room to sympathetically restore the facility, maintaining period features such as oak panelling to walls and plaster works to the ceiling and update it for use by consultants and senior managers for both rest breaks and study.
Refurbishment of existing administrative area on the 12th floor of Tower Wing at Guys Hospital to provide new office and clinical areas for the European Bone Marrow Transplant team.
Refurbishment of a suite of offices located on the 4th floor of Gassiott House, including lighting, electrical services and all floor, wall and ceilings finishes.
The internal refurbishment of the main entrance to the ground floor of Gassiott House including a new glass and stainless steel entrance canopy, automated glass doors, lighting and finishes.
The conversion of existing basement storage facilities to enable the installation of new automated pharmacy equipment. In addition the reconfiguration and refurbishment of the pharmacy dispensary area, administration offices and patient waiting area at ground floor level. This was a live environment 6 days per week where we had to adopt flexible out of hours working within a high security environment of controlled drugs.
The refurbishment of six operating theatres, including the replacement of all wall, floor and ceiling finishes. New mechanical services including HVAC to the current HTM standard, replacement of medical gas equipment and new scrub facilities. New electrical services including lighting, surgeons panels, BMS system and new fire alarm system. These works were carried out in a live theatre suite where dust and noise control were crucial and flexible working had to be adopted to fit around operations in other theatres.
Conversion and refurbishment of existing offices into new Cytotoxic suite at 38 Little Britain.
Refurbishment of the internal facilities and external façade of the 12 floor building. Including lighting, floor, wall and ceiling finishes throughout the building whilst all areas were occupied. Wet room facilities were formed to conform with the governments patient privacy standards. Externally works were undertaken to reduce the effects of water ingress through the existing façade.
Construction of an Obstetric Theatre with prep and scrub room including theatre lighting, surgeons’ panel, medical gases and hygienic finishes.
Upgrade and complete refurbishment of existing laboratories on the 4th Floor North Wing. Work included extensive mechanical and electrical services, laboratory furniture, lab gas generators, de-ionised water plant, medical gases, CCTV, Access Control and new finishes.
The conversion of an existing space into 2 prayer rooms, male and female washing facilities and clerical areas. Works included the installation of new mechanical and electrical services and all finishes throughout.
This project was for the refurbishment and upgrading of the existing Haematology Day Unit. It was carried out in 2 Phases to allow the user to continue treating patients during construction work.
This project was the creation of a new care facility for the Neonatal Department in Lanesborough wing. It involved extensive mechanical and electrical services included new plant, IPS/UPS power supplies, medical gases and a baby tagging system.
Working closely with the hospital Trust and their modular theatre contractor Lodge constructed a new post operative recovery suite. The work involved a new build extension and alteration and refurbishment of existing hospital areas including M&E services and extensive alterations to the existing passenger lift.
This project on the lower ground floor of North Wing was the extension of the Brachytherapy area to house the hospitals new HDR equipment.
The Oshwal Centre in Potters Bar has Europe’s first traditional Shirharbandhi Derasar (Temple). Constructed in conjunction with the Oshwal association we carried out groundworks and external works, roofing and services on the temple. In addition we provided project management support to the Indian tradesmen who built the ornate stone and marble building. The building itself was hand carved in India by traditional stone mason and transported to the UK.
Tomotherapy® is a radiation therapy treatment. This project was to construct a lead ‘bunker’ in the basement of South Wing at St Thomas’ to House the Trust’s new Tomotherapy® equipment. The bunker included 80 tonnes of lead shielding to prevent radiation leakage, extensive electrical work to incoming supplies, the treatment room and support areas with ventilation and domestic services. Finishes included flooring, new ceilings and decorations as well as medical furniture and other fittings.
